Poem by Lisel Mueller. Art by the one and only, Claude Monet.
The way you paired Mueller's poem with Monet's work was a brilliant way to bring a different perspective to both! I loved this!
Thanks, Jason!
Gosh, this is beautiful, Mikey. Monet's paintings are marvellous. Thanks for showing them in a new 'light'.
Thanks, Yasmin
You pulled something beautiful off here in a way that I was too scared to attempt for my essay coming out tomorrow.
Great stuff.
Ah thanks, Edward! Looking forward to reading your piece coming out tomorrow, have piqued my interest now!
This was beautiful, Mikey, truly.
Thank you!
That’s beautiful. Thanks for introducing me to Lisel Mueller.
This is magic! I don’t know how I’ve never come across her poem before, but thank you so much for bringing it to my attention -- it’s a new favorite.
And pairing it with Monet’s paintings themselves brings her words to life in such a vivid and compelling way -- beautiful post 👏👏
Thank you, Candace!
A beautiful, thoughtful, and delightfully creative post!
Thanks, Amanda!
Thank you thank you thank you for this exquisite sharing.
Thanks, Kimberly! Was a bit unsure about this format before posting it to be honest, so very pleased to hear you enjoyed it!
I absolutely love it. I have this poem quoted in my memoir, it is such an important celebration of the perspective shift that can come from illness/disease/aging. But to see it visualized is next level!
Haha well I think Mr Monet deserves the credit for the visuals, all I did was scrawl across his work - which is itself perhaps an artistic crime 😅🙈
Well of course! But I never bothered to look at Monet’s work whilst reading that poem before, so it was a treat!
That was beautiful, thank you
Thanks, Eugenia!
