Welcome to Cosmographia. This post is part of our series on Symbology. For the full map of posts, see here.
Illustrated page from a 1446 edition of Ovid’s Metamorphoses.

I hope you enjoyed reading our mini-series on the symbology of the five classical elements last week. It was rather a deluge of words, with six posts in six days, so you could be forgiven for having missed a few. If you’d like to catch up on any of the pieces, you can do so here:

  • Elemental (Free)

  • Earth (Paid)

  • Water (Paid)

  • Air (Paid)

  • Fire (Free)

  • Aether (Paid)

As a salve for that firehose of verbosity, I am experimenting with a different kind of image-led post today. Consider it a coda of sorts, a collection of arcane aesthetica that explores the symbology of the elements in a different way.
